We had a wonderful time. I had never been sailing before so I learned alot. We started in the Ortega River and moved out into the St. Johns. We sailed in a dinghy the first day but had no wind. We rescheduled for the next weekend and took a 23 foot racer/day sailer both days. We sailed to the Landing for lunch and mainly stayed within a few mile radius of the Ortega River inlet. We tacked up and down wind a few times, and experienced both high and low wind situations, accommodating to each through tightening and loosening of the sails.We were out from 11am to 5pm both days. The second day we were able to handle the boat and Ford (our instructor) just coached us.
Ford did a great job. My favorite aspect of the training was that it was "one-on-one" and your needs are focused on. You're not in a situation where the instructor is repeating himself 5 times so that everyone in a group can hear, etc.
Overall, it was a nice experience and I would really recommend their school. Best of luck to you.
